What are the Space Mate and Space Buddy?
The Space Mate and Space Buddy are utility racks that can be a solid or foldable design and mount onto a tow bar. They are made of light weight aluminium and come with LED light clusters in a molded plastic cover.
The Space Mate
This model will fit onto Swan neck tow balls and has a platform of 50 cm wide and 120 cm long. Comes with six tie down points and a cycle mount.
The Space Buddy
This model will fit onto “Flange” two bolt tow balls and has a platform of 60 cm wide and 148 cm long.
Accessories
We offer a range of straps, mounting points, boxes and accessories for both the Mate and Buddy.
About Us
Space Rack
Space Rack was born out of a simple idea for an alternative carrying or rack solution for cars, vans and campers. I didn’t want a trailer but needed a lightweight and simple solution for carrying items when going away and when working. I didn’t want to always have to tow a trailer and I didn’t want to have anything that fitted on the roof of my vehicles.
More Space!
I needed more space when going on holiday with the family and built the first Space Mate over 20 years ago.
Keep it simple!
I needed a solution that was simple to use, lightweight and didn’t take up too much room.
Many applications!
I also wanted a solution that could carry my bicycles or luggage and even be used by me for work.
